My Fortress

There is SO MUCH MORE in the Bible about safety in God, about his being a strong fortress.

Consider Psalm 91.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High [Father’s house], will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

I was so privileged to visit Italy in 2025. We saw many ancient fortresses built to protect cities from their enemies.  Strong towers, some with ramparts, made thick with stone or brick.
Imagine the watchmen on top of the walls patrolling, watching the horizon, looking for intruders, ready to defend.
Imagine a trumpet blowing an alarm, and those who had ventured outside the walls running to take cover inside before the attack began.
All the ways God protects us are amazing, so encouraging! Psalm 91 is an anchor of hope.
Verse 9 says, “ if you make the Most High your dwelling— then then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.”
Another beautiful reason why “One thing I ask of the Lord…”
(Psalm 27:4).
